Metro Tianjin, Jiangsu Jianhu Rail Equipment Co. Ltd.

IFS Design was responsible for exterior and interior design as well as the development of the driver’s position for the Metro vehicles in service on Line 1 in Tianjin. The interior fittings were developed in close co-operation with the Chinese engineering partner. An important feature of the design was specified as being readiness for series production. In the context of the project, IFS Design was also responsible for the construction of a 1:20 scale model.




The first vehicle constructed was delivered in 2004.
