IFS Design developed, in collaboration with Voith Engineering Services GmbH, the first 100 % low-floor tram for the Chinese capital. The scope of work included design of the exterior and the interior as well as that of the driver’s cab. From an extensive market analysis through a many-faceted draft design phase to following the project during prototype construction, IFS Design took part in all the design-relevant phases of this project. The clarity of expression of style and reiterated design elements in conjunction with high-quality manufacture produce a characteristic appearance. Colour design followed the wishes of the customer, and follows that of the forests in the surrounding areas.
In the interior of the vehicle, generously-dimensioned panorama windows in combination with homogeneous surface lighting impressively ensure a bright interior.
The driver’s position is impressive on account of its functional design and the optimum ergonomic conditions for the driver.
The first prototype of this tram was introduced in June 2015.
