On the instructions of the Zillertal Verkehrsbetriebe AG and in cooperation with Molinari Engineering GmbH IFS Design developed the new Zillertalbahn, as the carriages are known. Cautious evolution of the appearance of the carriages in use up to that point into a new and modern vehicle generation was the main design factor to be considered.The modernised vehicles have been in service in Austria since 2006.
