Tram Flexity Classic Essen, Bombardier Transportation GmbH

Based on the Flexity Classic series by Bombardier, IFS Design created the exterior and interior design of the new 70 % low-floor trams for the city of Essen. A striking design feature of these vehicles is the bringing together of the front screen with the lighting elements located below it. The first vehicle was delivered in 2013. IFS Design was also responsible for the creation of a full-size mock-up of the driver’s position, which is equipped with modern touch screen displays.
